The Painting and Decorating Contractors of America was established in 1884. It is made up of a national office, councils, and chapters.
The National Office
Through the National Board of Directors, issues affecting the national membership are decided by representatives from every council. PDCA members can serve on national committees that develop and produce programs, products, and services specifically for the painting and wallcovering contractors. As the voice of the painting and decorating contractor, PDCA interacts with other national contractor associations to affect legislation and regulator policy. The technical, government affairs, publications, convention and ProShow/trade show departments provide professional programs and services that benefit the overall membership. PDCA web site.
The Council
The PDCA Lincoln State Council was created in September of 1998 to give a voice to the "open shop" painting contractors in Illinois to make PDCA easily accessible to any painting contractors that want to belong to a professional association. Council President email.
